Mix and Blend Essential Oils for Magical Use

These oils on their own, unblended, have distinct magical properties. You can use this guide to determine how to mix and match essential oils to create your own hand-blended potion oils with properties that match your needs.

I recommend using about 10-12 drops pure essential oil (not fragrance oils) in a 1oz base oil. The base oil depends on your preference for use. Balance your mix or add a little more/less of any essential oil to create your custom blend when adding the 10-12 drops. To increase potency, add one or more small chips of crystals that correspond to your intent. The same with adding herbs and root powders. Know what you want to successfully build your recipe. Record your recipe, and note your successes when using your recipe. Keep a journal or book of shadows for this purpose.

For anointing skin: Use a light bodied oil like Sweet Almond, Hazelnut, Macadamia Nut, or Apricot Kernal Oil. These are all lightly scented, with fast absorption properties. Note: be sure to test for skin sensitivity before using any essential oil.

For candles: Coconut oil and Jojoba, both will adhere well to candles, have heavier cosistency, and either solidify when cool or stay on the surface like a waxy substance. Also they do not go rancid. Any oil can be used for this purpose, these seem to work best for me.

General purpose, for mixing in recipes: Lighter oils will float on top of other oils, and essential oils are typically lighter than base oils. Some recipes blend well with the lightest base oils, and need little more than a shake or two in the bottle before use. Some heavier oils work well for recipes like Fast Luck, or Money attraction, where your blended oils layer and can be easily identified. For Fast Luck, or Gambling blends, the mixture may be green and golden, layered with a lighter oil, and have a distinctive appearance when the oil settles in multiple levels.

Anise Oil: Increase clairvoyance, protection, purification. Purification rituals.

Benzoin Oil: Use in purification rituals and prosperity spells. Add to any blend for its preservative qualities.

Camphor Oil: Prophetic dreams, divination, psychic awareness. Rituals to banish ill health.

Cherry Oil: Sprinkle at your doorway, or anoint yourself to increase cheerfulness and good humor.

Cinnamon Oil: Enhance psych, astral projection, prosperity, riches, and lust potions. Used in Moon rituals

Civit Oil: Use on skin for love attraction and rituals to return a lost lover.

Clary Sage Oil: Protection, cleansing house from negativity, use for banishing rituals to remove bad spirits

Clove Oil: For banishing rituals. Enhance wisdom, ward negative thoughts, stop gossip, and for inspiration.

Dragon’s Blood Oil: Potency, love attraction potions. Exorcism and protection rituals.

Egyptian Musk Oil: For strength and wisdom. Initiation rituals.

Eucalyptus Oil: Healing, purifying. Anointing oil, purification rituals.

Fangi Pani Oil: Attract trust, confidences, candid relationships. Anointing oil

Frankincense Oil: Use for spirituality, exorcism, purification, and in luck and protection rites.

Geramium Oil: Hex Breaker, lifter of burdened spirits.

Ginger Oil: Used in Success spells, or to ensure the success of love and prosperity spells.

Honeysuckle Oil: Health-healing, luck, creativity, psychic awareness, divination, clairvoyance and anointing.

Jasmine Oil: Love, money, dreams, hold attraction.

Lavender Oil: Cleansing, healing, love. Cleansing rituals.

Lemongrass Oil: Psychic/mental clarity.

Lime Oil: Increase energy, fidelity/loyalty, uncrossing. Keep a relationship faithful.

Lotus Oil: Opening, elevating physical awareness, protection. Anointing oil for area cleansing candles.

Orange Oil: to attract men, peace, personal power, luck.

Patchouli Oil: Mastery of a skill, growth, love and psysical attraction.

Peppermint Oil: Energy, mental stimulant. Anointing oil for enhanced vitality.

Pine Oil: Grounding, strength, cleansing. Used in cleansing rituals for sacred space.

Rue Oil: Antidote to madness. Protection from hexes, jinxes, and blocks powerful psychic attacks.

Sandalwood Oil: Spirituality, self healing. Healing rituals to banish illness and to ward from disease.

Vanilla Oil: Lust, mental powers. Sexual prowess, personal power rituals.

Ylang-Ylang Oil: Use to bring Peace, and for Love and Sex Spells. Wear on the body, blend with sweet oils.
